Hawaii Kai Towne Center welcomes the community to celebrate the Maunalua Heritage Festival – E Hō Mai I Waiwai. The event is presented by the following non-profit organizations: Huli, Livable Hawaii Kai Hui, Malama Maunalua, Maunalua.net, Maunalua Communities Foundation and Maunalua Fishpond Heritage Center and Polynesian Voyaging Society. Join us for this rare opportunity to experience and understand the cultural and natural resources conservation of water – wai – in Maunalua, mauka to makai. Hōkūleʻa tours will be available to the community and led by the Polynesian Voyaging Society.

Saturday, May 12th will begin the festival with a welcoming ceremony at 3 p.m. from Maunalua area cultural practitioners, followed by musicians Tavana and Maunalua and Hālau Hula Kalehuapuakea. Maunaula will perform from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Throughout the week there will be plenty of keiki activities, hula performances, educational booths emphasizing cultural and natural resource conservation in Maunalua, musical entertainment by some of Hawaii’s best musicians, talk stories led by Hōkūleʻa crew, and more!
